Fall Meeting, Nov 28, 2017

  1. Food day debriefing: Over 450 people attended Food day. Instagram feedback was great. Seed: The Untold Story screening went very well with a large audience and a very engaging discussion afterwards between students, faculty and visitors from farms. We agreed more time to plan in future is important. Also, Netflix movie choices are a better option then paying to license movies. Always make sure to go through Office of student life when planning screenings as they are very familiar with process.
  2. EcoFest: Think about planning and Farm Fig participation for the spring. Do we want to screen a movie again? Maybe Seed: The Untold Story again. Do we want to help Farm with seedlings for event. Follow up at first Spring Fig meeting.
  3. Discuss ways to assist and work with Food Studies Fig. Differentiated Figs, one more curriculum surrounding Food Studies, Farm Fig more far, and growing centered (still talk about food). Partner up for future events possible.
  4. Glenda discussed going to Puerto Rico and South America for Winter to assist with recovery and farming efforts.
  5. General wrap-up of Fall Farm Fig, discussed how classes went with Farm visits.
  6. HS6000 Urban Agriculture running for Spring.
